A note on why
this exists.

I started this because trying to properly research makeup has become weirdly hard.

So many reviews live on brand websites, where everything feels polished, filtered, and just a little too perfect. Sponsored content is often tucked away or dressed up as honesty. New products launch constantly. Every week there's another "must-have," another miracle formula, another thing you're apparently meant to buy immediately. After a while, it gets hard to tell what's actually good, what's just marketing, and what's worth your money.

The places that do have real opinions can be just as frustrating in a different way: chaotic threads, scattered comments, no easy way to compare products, and not much help if you're trying to understand ingredients or figure out what actually works.

I wanted something better. Something I'd genuinely use myself.

So I built this as a space for real experiences, thoughtful reviews, and clearer product information, without the corporate gloss. I have a real job outside of this, which honestly helps. This isn't here to push products or please brands. The goal is to keep it unbiased, useful, and grounded in real people's opinions.

Mostly, I wanted to make a beauty space that feels a little calmer, a little smarter, and a lot more honest. A place to poke around, compare notes, and find the truth without having to dig through a litter box of marketing.

I'm always open to hearing your feedback on how to make this space better, more useful, and more enjoyable for you.

With love,

Em
